Denton County deputy constable indicted on felony charges

A veteran law enforcement officer is accused of gambling with money that belonged to a police association.

Barry Minoff is a chief deputy constable in Denton County. A Hood County grand jury indicted him on felony charges Wednesday.

Minoff is the former treasurer of the North Texas Justice of the Peace and Constable Association. He allegedly used $300,000 of the association’s money to gamble.

The Texas Rangers were involved in the investigation.
