Overnight into Monday
The National Weather Service has issued a cold weather advisory in effect from midnight Sunday to 10 a.m. Monday. This means it will be very cold with wind chills between 6 and 11 degrees above zero.
Make sure that you dress in layers, bring your pets inside and cover any sensitive plants.
We expect temperatures to fall into the 20s by Monday morning. The wind chill is expected to feel like the single digits.
Temperatures will rebound a bit by Monday afternoon, but they are only expected to reach the high 30s.
7-Day Forecast
We expect to fall below freezing every night this week.
Lows will be in the low to mid 20s through Wednesday. A few flurries are possible to the west on Wednesday as well.
A potential winter storm is expected to move into the area on Thursday and Friday.
Will it snow?
A significant winter storm is expected to impact North Texas Thursday into Friday.
At this time, snowfall is possible along and north of I-20 including Dallas-Fort Worth.
Right now, it looks like we will see a wintry mix starting Thursday afternoon and that will change over to snow by Thursday night. The snow could be heavy at times.
We expect snow to taper off as we head into Friday.
It is important to note that we are still a long way out from Thursday.
If temperatures are a bit higher, the snow totals would fall significantly.
We will fine tune the forecast as we get closer.
