It's opening day for the Rangers

The Texas Rangers’ home opener against the Seattle Mariners is sold out.

Pre-game ceremonies before Monday’s game start at 3:05 p.m. So, the parking lots will open at 10 a.m. and the gates at Globe Life Park in Arlington open at noon.

Country music star Neal McCoy will sing the national anthem. Immediately afterward there will be a U.S. Air Force flyover and former Rangers players Tom Grieve and Bobby Jones will throw the first pitch.

Manager Jeff Banister says his team is ready.

“We came out of spring training relatively healthy and mentally prepared, physically in good shape. So, the start of the season we’re right where we need to be,” he said.

The Rangers encourage fans to arrive early on opening day. There will be metal detectors at the gates.
