Accidental shooting leaves man dead at Fort Worth gun range
FORT WORTH - A man fatally shot himself in the head while attempting to clear a malfunctioning gun at a Fort Worth shooting range on Monday, Dec. 30.

What we know:
Police responded to the incident just before 9 p.m. at Shoot Smart, a gun range and training facility at 10305 North Freeway in Fort Worth.
According to Fort Worth police, the man was on the firing line when he experienced a malfunction with the firearm. While trying to remove live ammunition, the gun discharged, striking him in the head.
The man has been identified as 26-year-old Khalil Hayes-Reed.
The man died at the scene.
Fort Worth police are investigating the incident.
