Texas offensive lineman suspended following DWI arrest
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Senior guard Kent Perkins has been suspended for one game by Texas coach Charlie Strong following his arrest last week for allegedly driving while intoxicated.
He will miss the game at Oklahoma State on Saturday.
Perkins, the most experienced offensive lineman on the team, was arrested early Friday and the team had the weekend off. Strong said Monday that he was upset by the arrest and that Perkins would receive "counseling, community service and punishment" within the program.
With Perkins out, next in line at right guard are sophomores Alex Anderson and Jake McMillon.
