Family of 4, woman killed in wrong-way crash in Fort Worth

A family of four and a woman who was engaged to be married were killed in a wrong-way crash on Northwest Loop 820 near Marine Creek Lake early Sunday morning.

The crash happened around 3:30 a.m.

Fort Worth Police say a Ford Focus carrying a father, mother and their two children was traveling in the wrong direction on Loop 820 when it crashed into another vehicle.

The Ford Focus caught fire, killing all four people inside.

A man and his fiancee were in the truck. The fiancee was killed.

The man was taken to the hospital and he is expected to survive.

"This is horrific. A lot of people are affected by this. And again, to be woken up to the call that I got this morning for this. It's just very, very sad. We're praying for everybody, all that were involved," said Fort Worth police officer Tracy Carter.

Police have not shared the ages or names of the victims.

It's not clear why the Ford Focus was traveling the wrong way.

Officers are continuing to investigate the crash.
