Sports Authority closing all North Texas stores
DALLAS - A struggling sporting goods store is packing up and leaving Texas, closing all 25 of its locations including nine in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Sports Authority will close more than 100 other locations nationwide. That’s about one third of its stores.
The company is more than $600 million in debt and missed an interest payment in January. The company reportedly is poised to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
There is no timeline on when the stores in North Texas will close.
