For the second time in two weeks, a vacant house in South Dallas caught fire.

Flames were reported at the home in the 1600 block of Elsie Faye Heggins Street just after 2 a.m. Tuesday morning.

At first, firefighters tried to fight the fire from the inside. But they had to back out of the structure when it became unstable. The roof collapsed.

Gusty winds also threatened to spread the fire to two neighboring homes. Firefighters had to douse them with water to keep them safe.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire, especially since this is the second time the vacant house has burned.

Fortunately, no one was hurt.
