Puppies rescued from Fort Worth garbage can ready for adoption
FORT WORTH, Texas - The eight adorable puppies that were pulled out of a trashcan in Fort Worth now need forever homes.
What We Know: Six of the puppies will be available for adoption on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at PetSmart in Montgomery Plaza in Fort Worth.
Lorcan, Keeva, Kian, Paddy, Dublin, and O’Malley were given the all-clear by veterinarians.
"We have a handful of them available for adoption tomorrow morning at PetSmart Montgomery Plaza, along with numerous other puppies, for our Puppypalooza event from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. There’s nothing better than snuggling with a puppy while snowed in, right?" said Cassie Davidson with the Humane Society of North Texas.

Two of the puppies, Guinness and Finnegan, are still receiving medical care but should be ready for adoption soon.
The Backstory: The Humane Society said a volunteer discovered the puppies on New Year’s Day while walking his dog at Crestwood Park.
Matt McEntire heard sounds coming from a garbage can. When he looked inside, there were eight small 8-week-old puppies staring back at him.
McEntire took the puppies home one by one.
The Humane Society later gave them all Irish names because of McEntire’s Irish heritage and accent.
What We Don’t Know: There’s no word on who left the puppies in the trash can.
