N. TX college student helps save trapped driver
A North Texas college student jumped into action recently to help save a man's life after coming upon a burning car in College Station.
Joe Bessner, who attends UNT, says he and his friend were going on a late-night food run around 5 a.m. last weekend when they saw a car pop the curb, hit a tree and catch on fire.
Bessner and his friend pulled over to help, along with two officers who came to the scene.
“Just walking up to that window was probably just one of the scariest moments in my entire life,” said Bessner. “I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know if there was gonna be multiple people, different body parts, if there was gonna be blood, and it was just absolutely terrifying.”
The men were able to hoist the driver out of the car and out of harm's way. The victim is expected to recover.
