Mural in Downtown Austin honors Willie Nelson
Musician Willie Nelson is now hard to miss in Downtown Austin.
A musician created a 60 by 20 foot mural on the side of a building to honor Nelson. It will be the backdrop for the Rock Fest music festival next month.
“We ran about 50 ideas by him. We finally settled on the godfather of rock and roll, Mr. Willie Nelson,” said Adam Brewer, who founded Rock Fest.
“I don’t think there’s anybody that doesn’t like Willie Nelson and if they did you might want to be a little suspect of that person,” added Wiley Ross, who painted the mural.
Rock Fest coincides with Austin’s famous South-by-Southwest festival and will invite unsigned music acts.
