JASPER COUNTY, IND. (FOX 32 CHICAGO) A school bus carrying players and staff from Griffith, Ind., crashed on I-65 in Jasper County, Ind., on Saturday.

The bus rolled over and landed on its top.

Many of the passengers were injured, but none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening. In all, 14 people were taken to the hospital.

The team was on the way to Lafayette for a tournament game against Marion, Ind., when the bus was sideswiped by a Kia.

The driver of the Kia, 23-year-old Dominique T. Small, told investigators that she was driving in the left lane when the lid of her drink came off and the drink slipped on her. Small, of Terre Haute, Ind., tried to grab the drink and lost control of the car, police said.

The Indiana High School Athletic Association said the game has been postponed and they will talk with Griffith school leaders on Sunday about a makeup date.

Traffic was backed up for almost ten miles at the crash scene.

"They're pretty shaken up. My son says he's never getting on another school bus ever again," said parent Sonia Martinez.
