Katy Trail robbery suspect seen on surveillance video
Dallas police want to ID a man seen on surveillance video using a stolen debit card from one of the recent Katy Trail armed robberies.
The surveillance footage released on Monday by police was from Oct. 29 and shows a man using the stolen card at a DART light rail ticket machine at the West End Station about 30 minutes after the attack.
Dallas police are investigating a series of five armed robberies along the southern end of the trail that happened at the end of October and early November.
The suspects are two black males in their 20s ranging in height from 5'7" - 6' tall and weighing between 140lbs and 200lbs. The two have worn gray, block or blue hoodies and jeans during all of the robberies. They were armed in each incident, police said, with a silver revolver or another handgun.
Police said the suspects usually stand on the train and block the path of victims before robbing them. No one has been seriously hurt, but police are still encouraging people to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity by calling 911 immediately.
The non-profit group Friends of the Katy Trail said 30,000 people use the trail every week.
Anyone with tips or who witnessed the crimes can call Dallas police at 214-671-3584.
