What we know: Fire crews are investigating the cause of a fire that burned a row of businesses along Main Street in Fort Worth early Monday morning.

Fort Worth police reported seeing heavy smoke coming from a row of buildings in the 700 block of North Main Street just before 2:30 a.m. Officers entered one of the buildings to search for anyone inside but were forced out by thick smoke.

When firefighters arrived, they found the structure unstable and fought the flames from outside.

A man was found outside the building suffering from smoke inhalation. He was taken to a local hospital and is expected to recover.

The fire was brought under control just before 4 a.m., but first responders remained on the scene for several hours.

Police said most of the burned buildings were vacant, but one was Chef Tim Love’s former office.

What we don't know: It is unclear if anyone else was injured in the fire.

The cause of the fire remains unknown because firefighters were unable to enter the buildings.

The exact number of buildings affected has not been confirmed.
