Hometown Hero: Anne Davidson
Klyde Warren Park in Dallas will hold a dance-a-thon for those who donate to the Unite Dallas Relief Fund this Friday.
The idea for hundreds of dancing feet came from Anne Davidson.
After the July 7th Police ambush, Davidson wrote a song of healing called "Do a Different Dance". She loves to dance, and she partnered with Studio 22 and the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas.
Sergey Korshunov, co-owner of Studio 22, will give free salsa lessons at Klyde Warren Park to those who donate to the United Way's Unite Dallas Relief Fund.
The money will help pay for mental health counseling for people affected by the July 7 ambush, families of first responders, people who attended the protest and students who were confined to El Centro College during the shooting.
Programs will also be funded for community engagement. Davidson's Bunny Love Foundation will match the first $20,000 donated.
You're being asked to create your own funny dance video and put it on social media and use #DoADifferentDance, tag your friends and make a donation to www.unitedwaydallas.org
Get ready to salsa and dance the night away for a good cause starting at 6:30pm, Friday, September 23 at Klyde Warren Park.
