The first “Coffee With Cops” event since the downtown Dallas ambush was held Saturday morning.

The event included a donation by the McDonalds of greater North Texas to the Assist the Officer Foundation in the amount of $20,000.

“Coffee With Cops” is  a long-standing event to encourage the community and police to interact. The Dallas Police Department and McDonalds hold the events every quarter as a way for neighbors to get to know the officers.

McDonalds employees wore Unite Dallas shirts at the Commerce Street location in downtown Dallas where the event was held. Everyone who attended got a free small cup of coffee.
