Body recovered from Lake Ray Hubbard

Dallas Police are working determine how a body ended up in Lake Ray Hubbard Lake.

The body was discovered Saturday afternoon following a request to search the area for a missing person.

On Friday Rockwall Police received a report of a missing person in the harbor area. The area was searched for several hours but the subject could not be located. On Saturday, Rockwall police continued to search the area and the subject was entered into the National Database as a missing person.

The Rockwall Police Department requested help from the Dallas Police Department and the Dallas Fire Department to search the shoreline of Lake Ray Hubbard. At 1:04 p.m., a Dallas Fire Department boat located a deceased person along the rocks of the Eastbound IH30 Bridge over Lake Ray Hubbard.

The location of the body is in the City of Dallas jurisdiction and Dallas Police Department is handling the investigation. At this time, the identity of the deceased is not being released pending family notification.

The investigation is ongoing and updates will be provided as information becomes available.
