McKinney teen appears on ‘Showtime at the Apollo'
McKINNEY, Texas - A high school student from McKinney won over the tough crowd last night on FOX’s “Showtime at the Apollo.”
Kaci Clay is a junior at McKinney High School who traveled to New York with her parents for the competition.
She told FOX 4 her own fight to overcome depression motivated her and she hopes it can inspire other girls.
“It’s great to have this voice and to be able to showcase my talent in this way. But I also think that it’s an opportunity for me to share my story and help girls who feel like they’re alone or feel like no one understands what they’re going through. And I want them to know that someone does understand,” she said.
Kaci was up against tough competition and did not win the top prize. But she did win a lot of new fans.
