1 dead, 2 missing after hotel collapse in New Orleans

A large section of a Hard Rock Hotel under construction at the edge of New Orleans' historic French Quarter collapsed Saturday amid blinding dust and flying debris, killing one person, injuring more than 20 and leaving two unaccounted as rescue workers hastened to enter what was left of the largely unstable building.

Former Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Babineaux Blanco dies

Kathleen Babineaux Blanco, who led Louisiana through Hurricane Katrina as her state's first elected female governor, has died. The office of Gov. John Bel Edwards confirmed Blanco died Sunday. She was 76.
