ST. LOUIS, Missouri - Jordan Spieth made sure he would advance to the weekend at the 100th PGA Championship by firing a 4-under 66 in the second round at Bellerive Country Club.
He rebounded from a 71 in the first round and now sits at 3-under for the tournament, 7 shots behind leader Gary Woodland.
You would never know Spieth shot a bogey-free round from his reaction on the par-5 17th hole. After an errant tee shot, Spieth found his ball in the hazard. He picked it up, and then chucked it back into the water.
The Dallas native is trying to become just the 6th golfer ever to complete the career Grand Slam. Spieth won the Masters and U.S. Open in 2015 and The Open Championship in 2017. His best finish to date at the PGA Championship is 2nd place, also in 2015.
