ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Nate Thompson and Ryan Kesler each scored a short-handed goal, John Gibson made 25 saves and the Anaheim Ducks defeated the Dallas Stars 3-1 to return to the top of the Pacific Division on Sunday night.
Ryan Getzlaf added an empty-net goal as Anaheim moved one point ahead of the Los Angeles Kings. Both teams have four games remaining, including the fifth and final Freeway Faceoff of the season between the rivals Thursday night at Los Angeles.
Radek Faksa scored with 1:29 remaining in the third period and Antti Niemi stopped 22 shots as Dallas' four-game winning streak came to an end. The Stars lead St. Louis by two points for the Central Division title and home-ice advantage in the Western Conference playoffs.
