Davis scores 31, Pelicans get rare win at Mavericks, 105-98

DALLAS (AP) — Anthony Davis had 31 points and 14 rebounds, and the New Orleans Pelicans ended a six-game losing streak in Dallas with a 105-98 victory against the Mavericks on Saturday night.

Ryan Anderson hit a tiebreaking 3-pointer in the fourth quarter for only the fourth road win this season for the Pelicans, who won at Dallas for just the third time in 25 games in franchise history.

Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavericks with 24 points but was 8 of 21 from the field on the second night of a back-to-back — both losses since Dallas handed Golden State its second defeat of the season, with Stephen Curry out with a leg injury.

New Orleans guard Norris Cole also had a double-double with 14 points and career high-tying 11 rebounds. It was Cole's first double-double of the season, and Davis' 21st as the Pelicans improved to 4-15 on the road.
