College football comes to Glove Life Field in Arlington on Saturday.

The home of the Texas Rangers was transformed into a football stadium to host the game between the U.S. Military Academy - West Point and the U.S. Air Force Academy.

It’s being called the Commanders’ Classic, and the goal is to elevate it to the prestige of the Army – Navy game.

It is also the 50th anniversary of the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy, which is awarded to the winner of a series of games between the Army, Navy and Air Force.

"We’re a baseball stadium first and foremost but to be able to host not just any college football game but one with as much tradition and pageantry as Army and Air Force was an opportunity that we really couldn’t turn down," said Sean Decker, the Rangers executive vice president.

On Friday night, a pep rally and the best boxers from both West Point and the Air Force Academy will face off. Both are free events at Globe Life Field.

Tailgating starts early Saturday and kickoff is at 10:30 a.m.
