Undercover police officer shooting
The backstory:
In August 2023, Chapman was in an unmarked Dodge Challenger conducting surveillance when he was confronted by three suspects.
Video from a nearby building show muzzle flashes from the guns of the suspects as Chapman backed away from his car, before returning fire.
Chapman was hit in the leg.
The men took Chapman's car and drove off. The vehicle was found abandoned a short distance away.
Dallas police said evidence from the crime scene was able to connect the suspects to Louisiana.
Cook, Polk and Lewis were arrested in Shreveport just hours after the shooting.
