Police are investigating a stabbing that happened Tuesday morning at a Downtown Dallas DART station.

Officials said a man and woman got out of a train at the Pearl Station using different doors. When they passed each other on the platform, they exchanged words and then the man stabbed the woman in the face.

The suspect took off running and other riders rushed to help the injured woman. She was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are still working on a motive and are still searching for the suspect. They do have video of the incident, but they don't yet know the man and woman knew each other.

DART rail service through Downtown Dallas was suspended for several hours for the investigation.

Buses were brought in to carrying riders to and from the Deep Ellum, Cityplace, Pearl, St. Paul, Akard, West End and Victory stations.
