The woman accused of the murder for hire of a Dallas dentist was extradited back to the U.S. from Mexico.
Brenda Delgado arrived from Mexico City on board an Aero Mexico flight that Landed at DFW just after 6 p.m. on Thursday. DFW police and customs and border patrol agents were on the Tarmac to meet the plane. Sources say the plan was to have Delgado do her immigration paperwork on board the plane so she could be immediately taken to the Lew Sterrett Justice Center
Delgado fled to Mexico after being questioned by Dallas police about the death of Dr. Kendra Hatcher. The dentist was shot and killed in the parking garage of her own Uptown Dallas apartment tower in Sept. 2015.
Delgado is accused of hiring a hitman, and getaway driver in the crime. Authorities believe Delgado was jealous of Hatcher for dating her ex-boyfriend.
“Once she's back here, you have three defendants in this thing. She'll remain in jail. I can't imagine the judge is going to set bail,” explained her attorney, George Milner. “She'll have to be arraigned, and some bail amount will be set. But she'll remain in jail awaiting trial."
Hatcher was a dentist at an Irving office. Her friends and family say she loved working with children and traveling.
Detectives believe Delgado, a jilted lover, hired Kristopher Love to kill Hatcher and Crystal Cortez to drive the getaway SUV. Both of the co-defendants are in custody. The trio is charged with capital murder.
Milner says he's concerned Delgado may have been questioned by Dallas police while still in Mexico without his consent.
"I'm going to be thoroughly disgusted if I find out that's true,” he said. “They knew she had a lawyer. They knew she was represented by me in this matter. They are ethically and legally prohibited from trying to communicate with her, interview her, interrogate her when they know she's got a lawyer."
Delgado was arrested in Mexico in April after being on the run for more than six months. At one point she was added to the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list.
