UK indie duo Her's killed in wrong-way car crash west of Phoenix
PHOENIX (AP/FOX 10) - A record label says both members of British indie duo Her's have been killed in a wrong-way car crash in Arizona.
Heist or Hit says in a statement that Stephen Fitzpatrick, 24, and Audun Laading, 25, died alongside their tour manager, 37-year-old Trevor Engelbrektson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, in a collision early Wednesday.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety confirmed the victims' names on Friday.
They had performed at The Rebel Lounge in Phoenix and were driving to a show in Santa Ana, California.
DPS says a pickup truck driving in the wrong direction along westbound I-10 hit a van head-on about 75 miles west of Phoenix, killing the truck's driver and three people in the van.
The driver of the pickup truck has been identified as 63-year-old Francisco Rebollar of Murrieta, California.
The Liverpool-based duo released its debut album, "Invitation to Her's," last year.
The record company said in a statement: "Their energy, vibrancy and talent came to define our label. As humans, they were warm, gentle and hilarious. Everyone here at the label is overwhelmed and distraught. We have lost our friends and the world has been denied their talent."
