Three people killed in wrong-way crash in Kaufman County

Three people were killed in a crash involving a driver, going the wrong way, near Forney, east of Dallas.

State troopers said 9-1-1 calls started to come in around 1:30 a.m. about a black SUV driving east in the westbound lanes of Highway 80 in Kaufman County.

A short time later, the SUV slammed head-on into a red car at FM 460

The car burst into flames. The driver was killed. A passenger in the SUV was also killed.

The driver of the SUV died at the hospital.

"Troopers are still investigating the scene at this time but we have not found any remnants of alcohol or drugs or anything of that sort at this time" said Kyle Bradford with the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Troopers opened up the road around 6:00 Saturday morning.
