Snowy weather stays west of Dallas-Fort Worth
DALLAS - Some residents living west of Dallas-Fort Worth are waking up to wintry weather Friday morning.
FOX 4’s Shannon Murray found snow falling in Eastland, about 90 miles southwest of Fort Worth. The wind chill is about 21 degrees there.
Workers at one gas station said they woke up to slushy snow and sleet on the ground. But it wasn’t too bad. They were able to make it into work for the day by just taking it easy.
The same storm system that dropped several inches of snow west of Abilene Thursday night. The snow shut down roads and stranded drivers in cities like Blackwell.
But nothing like that is expected in the Metroplex. FOX 4 Meteorologist Kylie Capps said it will just be a cold and windy day to close out the week.
North Texans can still expect gusty northwest winds throughout the majority of the day, with wind chill values staying in the 30s into the afternoon.
But then there’s lots of sunshine in the forecast for the weekend. It will be beautiful with temperatures back up in the upper 50s and low 60s Saturday and Sunday.
