Slain Euless Police Officer David Hofer was remembered at a memorial service in New York on Monday morning.
The service was held at St. Patrick's Cathedral in midtown Manhattan. It was an opportunity for Hofer’s former New York PD colleagues to honor the man who was shot and killed in an ambush attack at a Euless park last week.
Hofer was a 2008 graduate of New York University who served in the NYPD for five years before joining the Euless Police Department in 2014.
Thousands of people attended a Saturday memorial service honoring Hofer in Bedford at Pennington Field. The memorial service had a 21-gun-salute, bagpipes and speeches from Euless PD Chief Michael Brown, Hofer’s fiancé and Hofer’s father.
Hofer's body was flown to New York on Sunday and he will be buried in New York.
