Siblings shot during Craigslist cellphone deal

Two teenagers were shot early Tuesday morning while trying to meet a Craigslist buyer. Police are calling it a robbery gone bad.

Dallas police said a man, his girlfriend and his younger brother and sister agreed to meet someone just after midnight on Fellows Lane in the Joppa area.

They were hoping to sell a cellphone but said the buyer never showed up. They tried to leave when two unknown men flagged them down and that’s when police said the men fired into their vehicle, hitting the teenagers in the back seat.

A 15-year-old boy was grazed by a bullet. That same bullet struck his 12-year-old sister. She is now in critical condition at Children’s Medical Center.

The victims managed to drive to South Lamar Street where they were able to get help. The suspects got away on foot, police said.

Investigators are now looking for evidence and surveillance video that might help them track down the suspects.
