Reunion Tower turns 41
DALLAS - An unmistakable symbol of Dallas turned 41 on Monday and got a big birthday shout out from another 41.
“Hey, this is Dirk. Happy birthday to the Reunion Tower. We’re almost the same age. That’s good stuff. Enjoy!” retired Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki said.
The tower is one of Dallas’ most recognizable landmarks offering visitors views of the city skyline.
According to Dallas Morning News archives, it opened on April 15, 1978. There were reportedly 13 car accidents that day due to distracted drivers.
The tower was also part of the opening credits for the TV show “Dallas.”
