FORT WORTH, Texas - Fort Worth police now believe a teenager who was reported as kidnapped after a robbery early Thursday morning was actually in on the crime.
An 18-year-old man told officers he was with a 17-year-old girl outside an apartment complex on Vega Drive in south Fort Worth around 3:30 a.m.
The man said three other men approached them. He was assaulted and robbed. Then men then forced the girl to drive off with them.
The man’s cellphone was still in the car and police tracked it. They found it dumped on Highway 1187.
After a thorough and comprehensive investigation, police said they were able to locate the missing teen. Detectives questioned her and believe she was an accomplice to the robbery.
There’s no word yet on charges or additional arrests.
