Police investigate deadly crash on I-45 in Dallas

DALLAS - A truck driver is dead and part of a Dallas highway is blocked after a crash involving several vehicles Saturday morning.

Crews responded around 2:30 a.m. and found a vehicle on fire at 6601 Julius Schepps Freeway.

Police on scene said the crash was caused by a driver who fell asleep at the wheel.

The FedEx driver did not survive and another vehicle next to the semi went up in flames from the crash, police said.

Two other vehicles had minor damage.

Police on scene said the road will be closed for hours while police investigate.
