Police shot and killed a man during a standoff in Parker County.

It all started around 7 p.m. Thursday when police got a call about gunfire in the 100 block of West Reno Road in Reno, which is west of Fort Worth.

Ronnie Pardon, 32, had barricaded himself inside the home and refused to surrender. He fired several shots from within the house, police said.

Officers used tear gas to force him out and police said that’s when he pointed a rifle at officers. They shot and killed him, police said.

Pardon had an active warrant out for his arrest.

The Texas Rangers will investigate the officer-involved shooting.
