Plane crashes into Eagle Mountain Lake, victim's body recovered
FORT WORTH, Texas - The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating after a small plane crashed into Eagle Mountain Lake, west of Fort Worth, on Monday afternoon.
The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office said it happened in the northern part of the lake near Lakeside Drive.
Images from SKY 4 showed a plane fully submerged in the water about 200 yards from the shore.
The Tarrant Regional Water District says crews worked to recover one victim and the wreckage of the Champion 7EC aircraft.
The cause of the crash is still unknown.
The sheriff's office said it is assisting the FAA and the water district with the investigation.
