Pedestrian killed while crossing without crosswalk at night in Arlington
Arlington, TX - A 53-year-old man was killed Monday night while jaywalking across an intersection in Arlington, according to police.
What we know: First responders were called to the 2000 block of E. Pioneer Parkway just after 6:30 p.m., where they found the man lying unresponsive in the street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators determined the man was crossing the street northbound without using a crosswalk when he was struck by a westbound 2016 Lexus ES 350.
Police said the driver was not speeding or intoxicated and remained at the scene, cooperating with investigators. No criminal charges related to this incident have been filed against the driver.
Arlington police are urging pedestrians to use designated crosswalks and avoid crossing roads at night when visibility is low.
