One teen killed, two injured in Garland car crash
Garland police do not know who was driving a car when it crashed, killing a 15-year-old and injuring two 14-year-olds.
A speeding Cadillac lost control early Sunday morning on West Walnut Street, just past Jupiter Road. It hit a curb and went airborne.
Police said none of the teenage boys inside were wearing seatbelts and two of them had to be cut free from the wreckage.
Angel Blancas died just after arriving at the hospital. He was about to begin his freshman year at Garland High School.
“That level is something no one expected. You are going to the first day of school, your first day of high school and you expect everyone and accept this. And learning about this and working through this is something that no one thought they would have to work through,” said Chris Moore with Garland ISD.
The other two teens have not been identified because of their age, but police said at least one attends Jackson Middle School.
Investigators hope to talk to them once they recover to learn more about what caused the crash.
