One person killed in North Richland Hills apartment fire
One person was killed in an apartment fire in North Richland Hills on Monday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to the Hilltop Apartments in the 6400 block of Iron Horse Boulevard about 2 p.m. on Monday. A resident said they saw flames coming from Building 4 of the complex.
High winds made battling the fire difficult, officials said. Four units were already engulfed when firefighters arrived and they were forced to go into defensive mode battling the fire due to conditions.
The fire hit three alarms before it was brought under control. When firefighters were able to go into the units, they found a body. No details were given about the person killed in the fire.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
