North Richland Hills to display "In God We Trust" at new city hall

The city council in North Richland Hills defied threats of a lawsuit and will display the national motto “In God We Trust” at the new city hall.

A Christian non-profit group started a national movement to urge governments to display the motto. Dozens of other cities in Texas have already agreed, but North Richland Hills will be the first in Tarrant County.

Council members on Monday approved the plan with a vote of 4 to 1.

The location of the motto has not yet been decided. The city is currently moving all of its departments to the new $70 million city hall building on City Point Drive.
