No issues for Thanksgiving travelers at DFW Airport, Dallas Love Field
It was smooth sailing for travelers at DFW Airport and Dallas Love Field on Wednesday.
The day before Thanksgiving is typically one of the busiest of the year, but there were only a handful of cancelations or delays at both of the North Texas airports.
Eric Esparza says he arrived extra early Wednesday morning to beat the rush and catch a flight home to Chicago.
"Just leave early, especially American Airlines. Follow American Airlines’ rules, come early and you'll be good," he said.
Joe Howard III was at DFW to catch a flight going to Jacksonville, Florida.
"Patience is one, get here early enough expect the unexpected and if you do that you're going to be just fine, you're going to be alright," he said.
Millions more are expected to travel this year than in 2020.
The TSA screened more than two million people Monday and that’s expected to be the average for the heavy travel days this holiday week. It’s nearly double the number from this time last year, but still not quite to pre-pandemic levels.
