Man sues Dallas for rejecting porn convention

A man who said he wants to go to a pornography convention in Dallas is suing the city.

Earlier this month Dallas City Council members refused to rent out the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center for the Exxxotica Expo.

Justin “Chino” Salas worked at the expo last year. He said the city’s ban on sexually oriented shows is a violation of his First Amendment rights. He hopes to both attend the expo and operate a booth as a vendor.

Salas' attorney hopes the filing will lead to a class-action case. More immediately, he's asked for a temporary and permanent injunction that would prevent the council from banning the expo.

The producers of Exxxotica have also threatened to sue the city.
