Man found dead near Fort Worth tax office

A man was shot and killed Tuesday morning outside a tax office in Fort Worth.

Police said there was some sort of altercation in a shed behind the Flores Income Tax Services in the 1600 block of NW 28th Street around 11 a.m.

An adult male was shot twice in the upper chest and pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses told police they saw a man walking away from the scene shortly after hearing the gunfire.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released and police are unsure if he lived or worked on or around the property.

Throughout the day investigators collected evidence and spoke with potential witnesses. Police were actively following up on leads in the case but have not publicly divulged a motive in the murder.

Police had not released a description of the suspect as of Tuesday evening.
