Man fatally shot inside Fort Worth apartment
FORT WORTH, Texas - A man was shot and killed at an apartment complex south of downtown Fort Worth.
The shooting happened just before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Butler Place Public Housing Complex near Spur 280 and Martin Luther King Junior Freeway.
Police said a 25-year-old Adam Mack, Jr. was shot inside an apartment. He died at the scene.
Detectives are interviewing several witnesses who were inside the apartment when it happened.
Mack's girlfriend told FOX 4 they were hanging out and drinking at the apartment with three people who they thought were friends. But then she said an argument broke out.
The three friends left and later returned with a gun. They shot her boyfriend on the front porch, she said.
“I don’t see why they would want to do that to somebody that has always been… always cracking jokes, always going to look out for ‘em. I don’t understand. I don’t understand,” Jodie Holley said.
She said police know the names of the three suspects.
Mack's family members said he was the father of two young children.
