Man accused of drunken driving in deadly Forest Hill crash

Forest Hill police say a 23-year-old man is charged with driving drunk.

They say he killed two people in a car he hit with his SUV early Monday morning.

The driver of the SUV, 23-year-old Jose Salinas-Gomez, is charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault.

Police say Salinas-Gomez's SUV hit the car that was going through the intersection at Hartman Road and Richard Street.

George Moon, 76, was killed. A 63-year-old woman who hasn’t been identified also died.

The driver of the car and another passenger were injured.

A man in a house on the corner where it happened told FOX 4 that he tried to help, but the crash was so violent, there was little he could do.

Forest Hill police say they're looking into where Salinas-Gomez had been early that night and where he was going at 3 a.m. Monday.

The other two people who were injured are expected to recover.
