Late-night lightning likely sparked house fire in Frisco
FRISCO, Texas - Some North Texas may be cleaning up Friday morning following a round of late night storms. And in Frisco, fire investigators are trying to determine if it was lightning that caused a house fire.
The fire caused substantial damage to the home on Barcelona Lane near Hillcrest Road and Panther Creek Parkway in north Frisco. Most of the roof is gone.
Video from a FOX 4 viewer shows the flames just after 9 p.m. Thursday. First responders had rushed to the scene to try to put them out.
Caution tape now surrounds the home to make sure no one goes inside.
The storms Thursday night brought lots of lightning to the area. There were more than 400 strikes within a 30-minute period for Denton and Collin counties, according to the National Weather Service.
Of course, the storms also brought much-needed rain and some hail and other damage.
