A developer unveiled plans for the old Texas Stadium site to Irving council members on Wednesday.

A commercial real estate company based in San Diego presented its ideas that include a mix of residential, retail, and office space.

Irving's mayor said she wants the new site to have a wow factor of its own.

"When you drive by it, you no longer think, oh that's where the Dallas Cowboys stadium used to be,” said Mayor Beth Van Duyne. “That is a brand new, vibrant area in our city where we have mixed use, corporate use, locations that are coming there from all across the world."

The old site is surrounded by Highways 183 and Loop 12 and has been used as a place to store highway construction equipment since the stadium was imploded five years ago.
