I-10 reopened at Texas-Louisiana border after flooding
HOUSTON (AP) — Texas Department of Transportation says that the eastbound and westbound lanes of Interstate 10 at the Texas-Louisiana border have now been reopened after being closed due to floodwaters caused by storms that had deluged the area.
The freeway, one of the country's major transportation arteries, was reopened Friday night.
It had been closed at the Texas-Louisiana border since Wednesday due to flooding from last week's storms that has led to thousands of evacuations and has destroyed or severely damaged hundreds of homes.
The Texas Department of Transportation says that after it inspected the freeway, repairs were done on the eastbound lanes while it determined that no repairs were needed in the westbound lanes.
