Hometown Hero: Jane Paschal

Methodist Richardson Medical Center has a volunteer working on 50 years of service.  Jane Paschal has been a hospital volunteer for 47 years and 9 months.

She escorts family members and friends to patients’ rooms. She also helps organize tiny-knitted baby caps, blankets and cloth burp bags made by volunteers.

On average, 2,000 babies are born each year at Methodist Richardson, and each mom gets a homemade gift made with love.

Jane is 83 years old. She loves people and loves helping them. She knows a hospital can be an intimidating place, and a smile can go a long way.

Jane plans to be at the hospital for at least two more years so she can mark 50 years of volunteer service.
