Goff's Hamburgers reopens in University Park
DALLAS - A legendary hamburger joint reopened to the delight of many people in University Park.
Goff’s Hamburgers, which first opened in 1950, was destroyed by a fire in 2016. The walls of the 92-year-old building had to be torn down.
Lines were long for Saturday’s soft open of the new Goff’s. Many of the original customers returned.
“Within an hour the line was out the door and Day 2 lines were out the door again. It’s going well,” said Jim Francis, the restaurant’s owner.
Many employees who were working at Goff’s before the fire also returned and said they are ready for a fresh start.
